Minute Makeover Manual:Out the Door Lippies!

Hey Jaan's!

So today I want to talk "lips". I am going to be honest most days I am running late. I no longer have the time to put on a full face. Those days seem so long gone for me :(

So I've decided to reel myself back into reality with...baby...baby steps. I figured if I'm short on time even if I don't get to put in on while I'm home...I could throw a cute lippie in my bag and leave my worries behind.

Which brings me to these 2 beauties:

NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair
1. Goes on smooth.
2. The color blends well with natural lip color. Seems suitable for a variety of skin tones.
3. Does not leave residue in the corners of your mouth
NYX Soft Matte Cream in Athena
1. Very soft color. Peachy w that nude vibe!
2. You don't need much, but this could be layered for a different look.

*suggestion:exfoliates lips a must before application.
*Both are budget friendly!

Thrift with JAAN: The 2 Dollar Belt!

Hey Jaan's,

I normally post my thrifty finds on the weekends but I thought this could not wait. I shop at a bunch of secondhand, vintage, and thrift stores but my neighborhood Goodwill is my favorite.

What I purchased:

Note: These are round circles in the front not Chanel "C's"

Here's what I love about it:
1.The sparkle and gold detail. I like alot of pop and circumstance lol.
2. The belt has a braidedor woven pattern...this just adds to the flair.
3. Stretch! Ya'll know I love a little elastic. This allows the belt to fit nicely around my waist for a seamless look!
4. Hook closure is awesome I have no time fussy hardware.

The Follicle Files: Marshmallow 4 Curly Hair!

If you follow me on IG than you may have noticed when I mentioned that I have been wearing my hair in a bun for...ETERNITY!

I caught a sale on BlueRozeBeauty.com and promised my self I would grant myself some me-time. Yeh, I know washing a head full of curly hair is so tranquil lol

This time however I was gearing up first the styling portion! I wanted to do a faux washngo. This is what I did:

1. Washed hair
2. Used @bluerozebeauty toasted marshmallow 1st then added marshmallow cream gel for definition
3. 4 Jumbo twist
4. Took them out while hair was a little  damp!

Why does it work for me?
1.My hair is not as full as it use to be. The toasted marshmallow gives us enough moisture and it does not weigh the hair down.

2. The product work well together. I was able to add the cream gel after applying the moisturizer. My hair was not left limp or weighed down.

3. I want to add that the cream gel gives a nice hold w/of the crunch. I left the twist in for only and hour. Even though my hair was still damp, I could tell it added to definition.

The CRUMB Series! A NEW TAKE ON POPCORN!

Jaan's,

If you've been keeping up with me then you are aware that I am working on eating healthier. Now I didn't go cold Turkey, but I have been slowly cutting certain foods out and incorporating healthier alternatives. I have ran into an issue. Finding snack alternatives. I am not much of a sweets girl, but chips and Slim Jim's...oh I just love them. It's the crunch and the salt! Which leads me to these awesome finds!

PURE GROWTH ORGANIC: I love the taste! The white Cheddar is perfect to satisfy my cravings! I'll fill up a sandwich bag and eat from it throughout the day!

BOOM CHICKA POP!: I grew to love kettle corn...never really cared for the sweet taste. However, things have changed. I love the balance of sweet and salty. 70 calories a cup is not half bad. Not that I'm counting calories...tehe
tehe

This beats the pricey vending machine. A roughly 3 bucks a pop (inserts humor). Im sold!

TOOLSDAY: Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and Baking Soda!

Hey Jaan's,

I know the items in the title are somewhat familiar to you. There are many articles and videos that show you ways to use them. I am not going to repeat the same thing, but I wanted to share my personal experience and what I use them for.

1. Rinsing my son's locs! I stumbled upon this when I was frustrated with removing buildup. I don't have a salon chair for him to lean his head back, but this is what I do.
  • Option1:Mix ACV and Baking Soda. Let it settle and put it in a spritz bottle Then I spray his hair and wash it out.
  • Option2:    Make a paste by mixing baking soda and water. Apply paste to areas with buildup. Then I use a spritz bottle to spray ACV on it the same targeted areas.
2. Cleaning the bathroom! Ok like seriously, this is the BEST bathroom cleaner, especially on the stainless steel or metal fixtures. It works well for cleaning the tub when there is product buildup from soaps, shower gels, shampoo and conditioners.

3. Cleaning my coffee pot! I start my day off with decaf. I love my simple coffee pot, but I admit it looks a little abused since I use it everyday. I used a mixture of baking soda and ACV and my glass pot looks new. That brownish tent is GONE!

What I don't like: The SMELL of course. The area where it will used will be sparkling, BUT you will definitely need to use something that is fragrant after.

*** I will hopefully do a BATH BOMB recipe soon using baking soda of course. Stay tuned for that!

anatoME: Have you taken your BABY STEPS???

Hey Jaan's,

So as you may already know. I am on a journey to not just lose weight, but to be and most importantly FEEL healthier. Which brings me to the topic of this post, BABY STEPS!

As a mom most of the time I am thrusted into things. I forgot to take the meat out to defrost. I am scrambling to find whats' for dinner. I wake up late I am running all over the house searching for things etc etc. Sound familiar?

Well, I wanted this journey to be different. I wanted to go through it like my favorite slow jam. Immersing in every note and remixing the next line because I think my version sounds better. Get it?

I wanted to share with you guys a couple of BABY STEPS that I have implemented to get me started!

  • Exercise- I did not buy a gym membership. My husband says and I agree that I have a problem with discipline. So I am saving my coins and working out at home. Right now my husband is my coach and I'm working out 6 days a week. At 1st I was doing 2 days on 1 day off.
  • Ive been using an osmotic wrap and caffeine cream. I need more time to be able to say if it working for me.
  • Using a multi-vitamin, probiotic, and raspberry ketones.
  • Bath time- I have added essential oils and epsom salt to my baths. It adds to relaxation and helps with the after workout soreness.
  • Meal Prep- Ok I am not going hard core, but I do have my breakfast prepped for the whole. I take leftovers for lunch.
  • Food intake rules-
  1. Eat a vegetable or fruit with every meal
  2. No butter- I have been using "I cant believe its not butter"
  3. No soda- (pepsi was my crutch)
  4. So far I drink 2 cups a water a day. Clearly not enough but I'm working on that.
  5. No bread- for some this may KILL you.
  • Spirituality- To each his own, so I want delve to far into this. However, stress, worry, and simply a long day can effect how you feel. I pray daily and use scriptures to pinpoint my needs.
The key here is a little at a time. I did not start all of these things at once. When I realized I could be disciplined and I was successfully meeting one goal, I added another.
